An Update and a List...

I want to thank all of you who have been checking in to see how things are going and what the status is on our TA. Well, the status is this: we are still waiting. But we did receive good news today that our Article 5 officially left GZ and is on it's way to CC*A, so hopefull it will be SOON. Our agency said that the average is 2-4 weeks, so we'll see. I've pretty much given up trying to guess when we will travel, as I thought our little sweetheart would've been home with us by now. Most of you know we have been matched since last June, but since we had all of our paperwork yet to do, it has made for a very long process. I know in the big scheme of things it's really not that long at all, compared to what so many others have to wait. But when you've known exactly "who" your daughter is for so long, you just want to bring her home. We truly are still trusting in God's perfect timing, though. We know He has a plan and has already chosen the exact hour, but the wait is still difficult at times. It is likely the earliest we would travel would be end of April. However, with the Trade Fair taking place throughout Ch*na from April 15 through May 5, we will likely travel in May, as the cost of hotels supposedly increases a great deal during this time. We need to keep our costs down as much as possible, so we would have to wait.

I still need to be prepared and start packing though, as it isn't unheard of for the TA to come sooner then expected. In which case, I really would be in a panic if it were here tomorrow. So I'm making my lists and starting to prepare. We are so close, I can feel it! I know that Khloe will be home before I know it, and I still have a lot to do. Many of you have expressed interest in helping with a donation to NewDay. I appreciate that so much and contacted the director Karen, to see what their greatest needs are at this time. She expressed her sincere gratitude towards everyone who wants to help the children and gave me a list of items that she stated would be best purchased in the states and brought over, as much of it cannot be found easily there. If you are interested in donating, please leave me your email address in a comment and I will send you the list. You are welcome to shop for the items yourself, or you can send me your contribution and I will shop for them all at once. I just need to get the ball rolling, as I know everything will be crazy busy once our TA is here.

Also, if you think of it, would you please lift our family up in prayer. I've never posted about this before as it's rather private, but we are short on some finances for our trip. We are believing God for the provisions. Coach Oatsvall (check out his AMAZING Dad's video here) has said that "God funds what He favors" and I know this to be true. I have seen it over and over again. I believe it is a trying of our faith, but I do trust that He will see us through. Somehow. And while you are praying for us, could you also pray for our health. We have had some major attacks on our family lately. Our entire family has been battling a violent case of the stomach flu over the past week. Just when I thought it was over, Dawson went from the flu to some very swollen glands and other symptoms. After caring for him the last few days, I have felt some of the same symptoms try to latch onto my body this afternoon and evening. I know I should be ready for all of these things, and put on the full Armor of God, as I've seen the enemy bring on many attacks when families are closing in on their travels. Satan doesn't want to see any of these orphans come home, and if he can't stop us, he's going to try and make the journey as miserable as he possibly can. But I know that in Christ Jesus, we have been given authority over all of this, and I am a huge believer in the power of prayer in numbers. When Christians join their faith together in one accord, big things happen!

Thanks again to all of you who have so kindly been checking in on us. We're approaching the home stretch, and it really is SO exciting!

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promises is faithful."
~Hebrews 10:23

I will be praying for your health to improve! It is certainly one of those areas the enemy does target like you said and oh how it brings us down and causes fear.

Thank you for the update. It is wonderful to see your perspective on travel dates but I shall be praying that you get to travel before Trade Fair!!!! Also for your finances, I know that God will provide for you even though it be at the last minute..... oh how He loves to wait to bless us!!! It is great that we all know how to pray for you.

I also realised that I do not know what Khloe's SN is. I was not sure if you have posted about it before and I missed the post. Or perhaps you have chosen not to make it public which I respect!!! Either way, I pray for her in general.

Love and prayers to you all,

Naomi

I so remember the wait on paperwork. Those were honestly some of the hardest days of my life. I would walk around with the phone in my pocket then have myself a little cry everyday at 4:00. I will be praying for you! I can say that God did some incredible things in my heart during that time, but it was SOOO HARD!

I will also pray for your funding. As I am sure you have heard and read, God provides there too and it is amazing to see how He does it. Please let me know if you decide to do any last minute fund raising because i would love to help spread the word.

Finally, I am praying for your families health. I know you are glad that you aren't all sick and in China. We will pray for a super healthy home for that sweet girl to come home to.

Blessings
Ginny

Of course send me the ND list! almquist@fmtcs.com

It is so wonderful to read your update. And I hope that travel comes at the perfect time for your family ... and that the anticipation isn't TOO overwhelming! I know you've been waiting a LONG time.
Our family battled a never ending stomach bug 2 years ago (of course I was pregnant with morning sickness at the time too--ack!) It was about 3 months of on and off. I ended up using only paper towels (no dish rags), making sure all surfaces were cleaned with Clorox spray and/or Lysol (remotes, phones light switches ... it was quite crazy.) I have heard that those germs can live up to 2 weeks in a person's bathroom stuff (and I'm not talking about the actual room or the stuff permanently in there. Ya, so even when you THINK all is well ... it can come back around.) PRAYING for this to leave you guys!)

Also, do you know Khloe's waist and hip measurement ... or her height. I would really like to make her a twirly skirt but it would be best to have a rough estimate to work with. Even just a 2T, 3T type reference.

Let me know if you decide to do a fund raiser, I'd LOVE to donate some things. I will lift you up in prayer for your finances as well!! It would be difficult for me to publicly talk about that too ... but adoption isn't free ... and think about the people whose perspective may be enlightened by learning more and having a part in the adoption process. "Some people" are not at a point of adopting but love to be close to God's heart in it somehow. God works through all things for His glory.
HUGS!

Tanya! Is their a way you can set up an account and we can help you with the funds? I would love to set this up as well. Any way I can help!!! What if you guys were able to get her during the Trading Fair, perhaps the funds would help you get there even when the hotels are pricey. Let me know your thoughts. Feel free to e-mail me.

Yes, Satan will do anything he possibly can to keep you from going. I remember my Dad about to go on a mission trip and I got in a car accident and something rough happened to my brother. Our family was most certainly attacked. But, my Dad still won. Satan is NEVER going to win!

Tanya,
So sorry to hear that the ole enemy has been trying your patience. He is way too good at it! I will be lifting you guys up in prayer. My DH has been down with the same stomach flu. It seems rampant around our parts lately. I know several families that have dealt with it. And boy is it ugly! Hoping you all are feeling much better soon.

Please send me the list for New Day. I talked with Carrie and we are planning to sponsor an outing for the kiddo's as soon as the weather breaks. Maybe another ice cream trip. But we would love to help with this as well.

Hang in there, God will provide for your trip. Yes, He is so faithful!

Many Blessings!

We will be covering you in prayer ! You betcha there is an attack from the enemy when you get ready to bring your daughter home - we had so much that happened right before we left for China too. It was crazy ! But, we knew what we were doing was changing lives and glorifying God. Can't wait to see your beautiful daughter in your arms.

Tanya,
I will lift you up in prayer. Yes the wait can be terribly difficult but the discouragement comes from the enemy. God has brought this precious joy into your life and His plan will not be thwarted, be encouraged and know that God loves you.

Praying for health, sanity, financial provision and patience!!! I can only begin to imagine how hard it is waiting for that TA but it IS coming. Soon the day will be here that your little Khloe is placed in your arms...although I know that can never come soon enough! And Spring will really be such a nice time to travel. Be sure to remind me of that when I'm waiting on TA this time next year. :)

Big hugs to you!!!
Tara

Will be praying for your health, your TA to come in God's perfect timing and for His provisions....
It is so sad and hard that it has taken this long... but... God is on the throne and He has a plan. I am thankful HE is taking care of your little one while she waits for her family.
To God be the glory.

It is so hard to wait-especially when you have known who she is for so long. We have known who are girls are since March but didn't officially have the referral until June. I feel like I'm watching a clock slowly tick tock... (I do think the first one is the hardest to wait for)

Praying for you- for good health in your family, The the final funding for the adoption and travel to be provided through our Lord and TA to come quickly!!

God Bless you!

I am right there with you friend. We have had our son's picture since June and look at it many times a day. We are now in our fourth week since our Article 5, but we are both so close to our kiddos. We just have to be!
See ya in GZ, We'll have to do lunch or something;)

My sweet friend, I will be praying on my knees for your funds to be met and the health of your family. I know how you feel about the wait, believe me!! We received our PA for Madelyn on April 3rd, 2009. I never would have thought we would still be waiting an entire year (plus) later. One thing I learned through our nightmare with USC!$ is that GOD's timing is best and as hard as it is to wait (oh mercy, it's hard). When we have our daughters in our arms it will be at such a perfect time because it will be blessed. I would love to contribute to your travel funds, have you thought of a fundraiser? If so, I will donate a Vera Bradley tote bag....Just let me know. You still have time to do a quick one...hint hint...

Much love to you!!

Tanya,
I found your blog through Melissa Caligiuri and also through her became a sponsor of a child at New Day (Melody).

I will be sending a box to Melody soon, and if there is anything on the list I can include in my next box so that you will not have to take it I will be more than happy to shop for extra things.

Praying for finances and travel timing and especially health. Had the tummy bug here too, the blessing for the family is that I am the only one to get it. Also praying God's peace over you all.

Tanya,
So good to hear from you! I've been thinking about you!
This waiting is the worst! But you really are SO CLOSE now!
I would love to see New Day's list (wride1509atmsn.com)! Thank you!

When we traveled, we took as many donations as we could, but ended up having to leave some things out :( because of luggage weight restrictions. I crammed in as much as possible! :)

Praying for health and strength for your family as you prepare to travel!

"God funds what He favors" ~ oh how I have seen this play out myself. Most recently in the fact that our tax return is going to be almost exactly what we need to cover the line of credit we had to take to cover our trip expenses.
And I've also seen time and time again in all three of our adoptions that "God is rarely early, but He is never late."
Praying for your entire family!
Kristi

You are so right by Satan attacking when God is moving. He doesn't love anything God loves. I will put your family at the feet of Christ and pray for all things to come together. God is so good and He will provide all the funds, bring health to your family, and joy upon your lives.

I was wondering why the Lord was laying you on my heart a lot lately...I will definitely be praying, sister.
I just found a pic that I don't think I sent you and I'm trying to email it to you but I'm having issues with the computer. She's sleeping in her crib...did I send that one?
Sending hugs...

Oh Tanya, I'm praying...praying for your continued strength as you wait to hold your sweet girl. Is so hope your TA comes soon...but hold onto the fact that it will not come a day late in His book. You KNOW God has his arms wrapped tightly around you all. He's had His hand in all this from day 1. Despite everything Satan may place to block your path, God will gently and easily guide you around it, or lift you right on over it!!

Just as it is in giving birth....the wait and the pain fades to nothing once you hold your child.....it will be exactly the same when you see Khloe:-).

You know I'm here if you need to talk.

Enjoy all that this special time holds...as you look back and see just how far you've come and as you enter the homestretch and you start to make your final preparations to bring your daughter home.

God is so good, dear friend.

Sending lots of love and hugs,
Tam

Tanya-

I'm praying for you....I know how the stomach bug is, I know the waiting well (although not the same kind of waiting YOU'VE been through), and I am sure you are just weary of all the waiting and ready for the beginning of the rest of your life with your daughter!!!!

Get some rest and try to savor these last few days/weeks before Chloe comes...i'm trying to constantly focus on god helping me to be in the moment, enjoying the present, and using the time for Him to prepare me for what is to come! That's my prayer for you too!!!

Love,
Jenna

Khloe's skirt is done!! I made one in a really pretty soft pink (not too soft so it still photographs well) and one in raspberry! I am about to put photos of it on Lexi's blog so stop by and let me know what color you want :) They were too big for lexi but so much cuter on a child than a hanger so I had her sit for some photos. Just want to reach out and let you know, all of us who are home have been down the path and know how difficult it can be. The uncertainty of the whys, whens and hows, were quite overwhelming on some days. So glad to know that God, as you said, was in control of the entire situation. On those days when you feel like you can't wait anymore (and I know there are many!) rest on Him. When you look back you will understand only His timing was perfect. Cara

Hi Tanya - I'm a member at Living Word also going thru the adoption process (check us out at www.youbelong.net/thebelchaks). Regarding finances, I'm going to give you what the Lord gave me during our first adoption..."Just like I'm paid for your adoption into my family, I will pay for the adoption of your children into your family". God's promises are yes and amen, both written and spoken. I look forward to following your journey to China.
