Calling All Prayer Warriors...
I am dedicating this post to a very special little girl who is going in for surgery at 11:00am (EST) this morning. Sophie is the daughter of my friend Tami, who is a fellow adoptive NewDay mama! They brought their precious Sophie home last August, and today she is going in for a major surgery at Shriners. Some of you already know their story, but for those of you who do not, you can read more about it here. While you are there, be sure to leave an encouraging note for Tami and her family...I know she will appreciate hearing from you!
Sophie was born without the fibula in her right leg, an abnormal curvature of her right shinbone, and strephenopodia of her right foot. She has done very well using a customized brace to help her get around. Today the surgeons will be amputating her foot so that she will be able to wear a prothesis. In the long run, this is the best thing for Sophie. Pray that everything goes well and for wisdom for the medical team performing her surgery. Pray that the surgeons hands are simply a vessel that God himself is working through. Pray for a "peace that surpasses all understanding" for Sophie as she is prepared for her surgery. Pray for God's grace to comfort and sustain her family. And pray for a speedy recovery for precious Sophie!

UPDATE:
Sophie is out of surgery and everything went well ...just as planned and expected. Naturally, she is a bit uncomfortable and just wants to go home now. Pray that she heals quickly, for acceptance and excitement for what her future brings. PTL...we KNOW it's all good!!

Thank you so much for doing this...We do feel God's presence and all those standing with us, and lifting us up in prayer. She's slept soundly last night and is now just waking up with a smile. She's quite an amazing, brave little girl, please pray for her continued peace, comfort, strength and acceptance. We'll be heading to the hospital shortly.

Thank you for posting this Tanya! What a brave little girl she is and it is encouraging to see her face this with a smile and spirit of acceptance far beyond her years! Only God could grow and mature her to that point of calm and understanding. What an inspiration to all of us who grumble at so many everyday inconveniences so easily. I think I will renew my attitude while praying for her today! Blessings to you!

I've been praying for Sophie and her family ever since I got the email from Karen last night...their names were even reaching the Throne at 5:00am this morning. :) Thank you for posting this and helping get the word out about this precious little darling!

Thanks friend for the sweet comments. I think I just might keep it long with a few spunky layers and some bangs. Funny, because I hardly ever let someone cut my hair, I do it myself.
