Good-Bye Guest Room....

.... HELLOOOOOOOO "Khloe's Room!!!"

Yes, the transformation is complete...minus a couple of minor details (like a new light fixture and some additional artwork that needs hung.) What used to be our Guest Room ...otherwise known as the "Bear Room" which housed my overly-extensive collection of Boyd's Bears ...has now been transformed from the neutral brown tones to a very girly-girl cotton candy pink and lemon yellow! If ever anything made this process seem even more REAL ...this was it for me! Especially when Martin set up the crib. Needless to say, I got a little emotional! When all was said and done, Dawson looked around and said, "Now it just REALLY feels like Khloe should be here!" I couldn't agree more, buddy!! :)

Let the transformation BEGIN...

~ Dawson helps Dad set up Khloe's Crib ~

....which we purchased gently used off of CL. And ironically, the little girl it used to belong to was also adopted from China! (cute story!!) She was SO excited that it was now going to be used by another little girl from "her China" ... Her name was Lydia and she asked me which China our daughter was from? Then she said, "Is she from the girl China or the boy China?" I looked at her mom confused and she shrugged. So I said "Well, I guess she is from the girl China." Then Lydia matter-of-factly replies, "Good! Cuz the girl China is nicer. The boy China is too rough. They fight and wrestle and stuff. But the girl China is nicer and they share their toys and dolls. And girls are gentler." TOO FUNNY! Her mom and I just laughed. She thought maybe that came from Lydia having 3 older brothers who wrestle around alot... as she was just short of 1 year old when they adopted her...so there's no way her memory comes from there. LOL! Lydia is now four and has a BIG imagination. She was all 'girly girl' in every way. She was facinated with my jewelry and wanted to try on my bracelets and rings. So cute!! :) We hope to get together sometime after Khloe is home. Don't you just love these Red-Thread connections!?!

~ Prepping to paint ~
* (forgot to take photos of the painting & decorating process...ooops!!)

***NOTE***
[ The paint looks WAY brighter in these photos than it actually is! ]

~THE FINISHED PRODUCT!! ~

Her Pottery Barn Kids bedding collection
...appropriately named "Chloe" !! This was the 1st doll I purchased when we began our process.
It is a Lee Middleton collectible and I think it looks like Khloe!

Khloe's CPK collection!

This is just a 'portion' of Khloe's cute hair accessories...
Many were made by the VERY talented Kelly of Girly Girl Bowtique!
She does amazing work!!
It won't be long now, and there will be a precious little girl sleeping and playing in this room!
We can't WAIT!!! We're coming soon, Sweet Khloe Mei! :)

SO CUTE! You and I have very similar taste. Ruthie's room is pink and yellow with florals too! One thing I did in Ruthie's room that she loves is I went to Hobby Lobby and got the flower yard wind spinner things and then attached them to her wall low enough that she can walk up and spin them. It was a really cute added touch and they are only like $2 a piece. Let me know if you want to see a picture of that so you know what I am talking about.

Awesome room though! I bet you walk in there and just sit on the floor and try and imagine her running around. IT WON'T BE LONG!!

Khloe is going to be in heaven in her room and I'm sure in years to come will recognize the love that was felt for her before she even knew it.

Wow Tanya!! That is one fabulously stunning little princess room. I have to admit I became quite emotional reading this post as I imagined seeing pictures in the future of sweet Khloe playing with her dolls, in her crib, and snuggled in her mamma's arms in that soft chair. Your heart must sing as you step in that room! Praying that these remaining days fly by.
Love ya,
Kelly

You can see and feel all the time and love that has gone into making Khloe's room fit for the special girl she is. I LOVE the butterfly mobile over her crib...you have to tell me where you got that! I can just picture the butterflies fluttering in a soft spring breeze:-).

Thanks for the great response on Ruthie's blog. As a pastor's wife, I have a really hard time encouraging people to tithe because I worry that my motivations will be questioned. Thanks for saying the hard stuff for me. I completely agree that it is not about what you have but about how you honor God with it.

Here is the link to the post I did that as the picture of the wall spinning flowers: http://4uruthie.blogspot.com/2009/06/fruit-of-hard-things.html

The teddy bear room was really cute ... and could only be topped by the NEW look! It is SO cute and girly and sweet! I absolutely LOVE those tall flowers by the window. And all the little touches with the hairbows and the glass mirror wardrobe. Awwww ... it yearns for its little girl! I can only imagine your excitement now that the crib is up and the room is pretty much ready! Have you found yourself just sitting in there and thinking? I remember doing that when I was expecting our first oh so long ago. Just trying to drink in all the things that the future would hold and that room would "see." Blessings to you and your family as you continue to grow. We all cannot wait for you to have some more footsteps through your halls!
Blessings!

The room is gorgeous with so many thoughtful and personal touches.

I found your blog through Melissa C. Also through you & her, I was led to become a sponsor of a child at New Day Foster Home.

From reading about Khloe and seeing her picture on both Melissa's blog and your blog, I can usually spot her bright and cheerful face right away on the New Day website and blog.

I think the quote on the wall is perfect too!

Okay, seriously, can that room be any cuter? Can it get any more girly flair? LOVE IT! I'm feeling a bit pathetic because Lydia's room is really Ashlyn's room plus a crib. :( Gotta get on doing something special in there for her....hmmm....

I'm so happy for you that you're at a place where you can transform your old guest room for your doll baby, Khloe. She will look beautiful in that room.

You did an awesome job and it was a true labor of love. I loved the crib story. God is so good to provide little happy spots along the journey, isn't He?!

I can't wait to see the day she is in that room.
