~ Thanksgiving Recap ~

I know we are already well into the Christmas season, but since I didn't blog about our Thanksgiving, I wanted to post a quick update here. We were so blessed to spend this year's celebration at my dad's house down in New Ulm. It was an absolutely beautiful day outside, and we enjoyed a nice time of fun and fellowship with family. They live on a small ranch overlooking the river valley high above New Ulm. They have the most stunning views and everytime I am there, I just enjoy taking in the fresh air and the beautiful views. Thanks Dad and Linda, for such a nice and relaxing time!!

Thanksgiving Dinner... "Buffet" style!! :)
The kids playing legos after lunch...
There was some serious building going on here! LOL!
My handsome hubby,Martin ~ catching a sunny afternoon nap after the food coma set in!
Then on Friday, we had Thanksgiving Dinner #2 at my brother's house. Since Jeremy had to work on Thanksgiving day, they postponed their celebration by a day, which worked out perfectly for us...though not-so-good for the waiseline, if you know what I mean!! ;) His wife, Missy, prepared the most scrumptious spread... she is an amazing cook and entertainer... my 'go-to' girl whenever I have some entertaining and planning to do! Seriously, I have told her a gazillion times that she could easily have a back-up profession as a cateror or event planner! Shortly after we arrived, we were given a small strip of paper and asked to jot down something we were thankful for this year. Then before lunch, we went around the room and everyone drew from a hat and read another's note of thankfulness. It was neat to have the kids involved with this and a good reflection of all that God has blessed us with. Of course, I was quick to write about Khloe and how blessed we are to have been chosen as her new family. This will be our last Thanksgiving without her... oh how I long to have her home!! Thank you Jeremy and Missy for hosting all of us in your home. We had a great time!!
The kiddos ~ all gathered 'round the table.
Trying to capture that perfect "cousins" photo!
...did I stress "TRYING"!?! ;)
...and the goofy 'funny face' photo! They were naturals at this one!

We were happy to know that even though Khloe is not yet home with us, that she was able to enjoy some Thanksgiving festivities of her own. Look at our adorable little Pilgrim...is she cute or what!?! Thank you to NewDay for blessing these children in such immeasurable ways! We are SO grateful to know that Khloe is in your loving care until we can bring her home!!

In reflecting over the last year, we really do have SO much to be thankful for!! Praying you all have a safe and blessed Holiday Season! <><

"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!"

I have to say, I like the fact that you say the "kids" played with legos, yet you can see the back of your husband's head in the picture! I guess the big kids played too, huh?! :)

Ahhh! Wonderful post, Tanya! Loved seeing all the photos of everyone. Legos -- timeless classic, even for the big kids ;)

I look forward to next year's Thanksgiving photos WITH Khloe!!
