My friend Lisa started a new project called Black & White Wednesday and has invited all of us to join in on the fun. To learn about her inspiration and pick up some great photo editing tips, visit her blog: The Long Road to China and consider joining us via Mister Linky at the bottom of her post! It's a great idea and lots of fun to take part. You can view links of the other entries while you are there! :)

This photo is of our lovely Khloe at about 18mos of age, and was taken by one of the summer interns who served at NewDay this past July/August. She shared them with me and it has been one of my favorite photos ever since. I had fun converting it into b&w and then adding some color back in. I am a complete NOVICE at photo editing, but I still enjoy it and look forward to learning more skills. I can think of no better subject than our adorable Khloe to start off my B&W Wednesday posts. Oh how I just long to hold our sweet girl in my arms. Sometimes the waiting is just too much to bear, but I know that there are others who have had to wait much longer. So I continue to count my blessings and trust that God will bring us to her in HIS perfect timing. We are currently on day 63 since our LID and praying our LOA arrives soon. Please do lift us up in your prayers when you think of it!
And if you missed my previous post about my very 1st GIVE*AWAY, there is still time to enter. Just scroll down and visit the links to choose your favorite apron, then leave a comment listing it after the post. Contest ends on Sunday, Jan.24th at midnight. Good luck!!

I know the waiting is so hard and some days it is harder. Looking at Khloe's sweet smile would make it difficult for me, too. I love what you did with these photos and think it is such a blessing you have these.
Keep up the good work and hang in there.
Blessings~
Lisa

A precious picture of a precious girl!!! I know how anxious you are to hold her in your arms, and I'm praying that day comes quickly!
Isn't it so much fun to do photo editing? I'm still waiting to have more time on the computer to start diving further into editing, but what I've learned thus far I am just LOVING!
This is one of my favorite photos of Khloe, too. She definitely has a very darling smile! :)
Miss you sister - let's line up that birthday lunch date soon (but maybe on a weekend, unless you want my four-year-old to tag along)!
Oh my goodness! She is so adorable. What a darling little girl you have! And I am so totally impressed that you don't know much about editing and you could add some color in there! Very cool.
What an adorable little face. You are so close now. I know how much you want to see that face right up close and in person.
I like the conversion with a little color added. very pretty. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful pics of your precious little girl! I'm going to choose the blue outfit ;-)
It is so hard to wait- when you know her, you love her and it aches so much to be without her!
She has joy written all over her face!
Look at your sweet girl! How precious =] Great editing!
Sweet picture of a sweet girl. Love the light blue!
Praying for you while you wait.

i always LOVE seeing that girl!!! Day 63 is amazing - it will be here before you know it!!!!!
What a beauty! Love the picture and the beautiful smile!
She has such a beautiful smile. Cant wait to see her in your arms.
Your calendar is on its way!! I have had sick kiddos and a traveling hubby! Sorry it is taking so long. :-)
First of all, beautiful job on your photo editing. Of course it must be pretty easy when you have such a darling to stare at while you are working!
I know how difficult this wait is. Each small step brings us to another stage of waiting. How blessed Khloe will be to look back one day and read how much you anticipated finally holding her in your arms!
I'll be praying for you and your family!
So beautiful! She has a wonderful smile!
Tanya,
You made my day! I'm glad my post encouraged you! :)
It's true-- you really are on the downhill side!!
(LOA on day 98 for us. :( I think the Olympics slowed ours down some, and I am praying yours will be MUCH sooner!!)
The waiting is SO hard-- but you're right-- at least you know that Khloe is safe, warm, and LOVED while you wait. Knowing that really helped me get through the tough days.
New Day is such an amazing blessing! So grateful for the ND family! :)
I love b&w wednesday. I have never been very good at the wordless Wednesday thing. Love the picture too. :)
Hi Tanya!
Thanks for the comment over at our blog- YOU MADE MY ENTIRE DAY! :-)
I'd love to talk with you about the whole adoption process. Kevin and I are very interested (we just signed up to sponsor a little boy named Wat, from Thailand, yesterday!) but we don't even know where to begin. If you have time, I'd love to hear your thoughts-

God bless you and your family!
PS- I couldn't resist....I was so inspired by your post, I emailed New Day about this little angel:
Sunny
Thank you for directing us to them!
Layla
praying she comes soon!
i love b/w photos & think you did a great job
blessings to you today

God's timing is so hard to wait on sometimes. Resting at His feet seems like such a simple thing but when your heart is with your child who is so far away...it is a difficult thing. I will be so thankful when she is home my friend.
Of course, the very BEST photo for your first B&W Wednesday! Of course, I have already seen this (than you!!), but love it just as much seeing it aqgain!
And .. I have to tell you - in church tonight we sat behind an adorable little adopted girl from China. She is about 5-6 now, but I have seen her grow up the past few years at church. I actually started crying (hard!) seeing her again. My husband and Griff though I completely lost my mind ;)and of course everyone else around us!
Anyway .. I pray that times speed up and Khloe will be in your arms very soon!
xo
I am going to have to steal this picture and frame it- I LOVE the editing you did! What a cutie!
